A HEART WARMING CASE HISTORY
This is Bolly, a Border Collie, I was privileged to have known and drawn. A wonderful example of when a pet portrait is not only precious to the owner but also a real pleasure for me to get to know them as I focus on their character during the drawing.
Bolly has had an amazing life. He was adopted at a young age from the charity “Hearing Dogs for the Deaf” after being unsuccessful in his final assessment due to separation anxiety. He was known as one of the charity’s fallen angels.
This didn’t stop him moving on to bigger things. He had a lovely family life and during this time it was recognised that with his calm and kind nature he would make a perfect therapy dog to help and support others.
His earlier training helped greatly and he was eventually assessed and passed as a therapy dog with the charity Pets as Therapy (PAT).
Over the following years he helped many people'.
He visited care homes and worked with dementia patients. his calming nature was very therapeutic
He did great work with children, playing a key role in the “Read to Dogs Initiative” in schools and supporting children at the Newark children’s bereavement centre
He was known to everyone in the village where he lived, he was a local celebrity.
Sadly, Bolly passed away recently.
He is missed greatly by so many people especially his family, but his memory lives on for the love, support and kindness he showed to so many people
His portrait is also an everlasting reminder of his caring and gentle character. To so many people he lives on in their hearts and minds. He also lives on in many people’s homes through the gifts they’ve received with his image on that was reproduced from his pet portrait.
Sadly missed but he’ll never be forgotten.

2. I draft a proposed composition, when you’ve approved it I start the drawing. On completion I’ll send you a scan of the final drawing for your approval.
3. When you’ve approved the drawing, payment is made prior to delivery.
